Augurational message from the Head of the Community of Fassa Valley

Meeting here, means living, if only briefly, in the heart of the Dolomites, among the finest rock group of the Rosengarten, precious jewel set between the valleys of Tires, Ega and Fassa. At the last rays of sun our mountains turn red the so-called enrosadira which inspired popular legends that developed the cultural heritage of our people.

We are honored by your presence and by your interest in our mountains, from the Rosengarten to the Marmolada glacier. Your contribution and your skills will surely increase scientific knowledge and awareness of the natural treasure that surrounds us that we are called to preserve and increase the value.

Joy and responsibility are the emotions and feelings that we live today.

• joy comes from recognition of the special nature of the Dolomites,
• sense of responsibility from the awareness that we should be more careful to use our heritage, on the path of a long tradition of development which should respect the environment and resources. One valuable heritage for us, that we have to or better we must preserve for future generations but not only for our valley but for the whole world.
